
Ralph is a learning and organisational development professional who set up Tacitus Projects in 2004.
With unusually broad experience in different sectors and cultures, as a facilitator Ralph is always keen to adapt and apply this to people’s real challenges. He always seeks active engagement, innovative thinking and meaningful and sustainable results.
He has led and facilitated:
- Leadership and project management workshops for over 100 clients in the UK in public, private and third sectors.
- International development programmes regularly across West, East and Southern Africa, and also in Washington DC, New York, Singapore, Dubai, London, Malaysia, and Delhi.
- Organisational change initiatives – project governance and management, IT change processes, talent management, customer insight, and operational training.
- Qualification programmes for learning and development professionals.
- Innovative projects and challenging international expeditions to develop and empower participants with diverse needs and backgrounds.
Previously , a senior manager in food retail and distribution and a short service army officer in people development roles, Ralph also has masters degrees in the sciences (MSc Organisational Behaviour) and the arts (MA Leisure Management).
His first degree in Classics and interest in the ancient world inspired a keen interest in leadership, decision making, communication and the importance of language that remain very relevant today. Tacitus Projects is named after Cornelius Tacitus, a great Roman historian who provides fascinating insights into leadership and political behaviour.
Ralph strives to understand, be open-minded, and to challenge perceived ‘best practice’, while being pragmatic in response to the needs of the situation.
